On Friday 29th of September XCM hosted “Attitude, The Game Changer – What is Resilience” a business brunch for the Gibraltar Rugby Business Network (RBN). This event focused on “Leadership, Attitude and Resilience” and how they are applied within the Royal Marines and in business.
The Rugby Business Network is a not-for-profit organisation that was set up in 2010 by ex-professional rugby player and digital entrepreneur, Colm Hannon. The network dedicates itself to encouraging and celebrating the application of rugby’s value to business.
There were 45 registered attendees at the brunch ranging from MD’s, Directors, to Heads of Departments across Gaming, Insurance and Finance. All were there to hear from CSgt Daz Davey of the Royal Marines.
CSgt Daz Davey spoke to the GBC about some of the topics covered at the business brunch – see the video here.
Paul Sampson of England and Wasps fame also spoke at the brunch where he discussed the mental importance of preparation both on and off the field, and how understanding the balance between thinking and acting, where there is too much of one or the other means failure is never far behind.
Andy Masters commented:
“All in all a very interesting and interactive session with great people who put our day to day challenges into perspective, and are happy to share the skills to help us all move forward as teams, whatever we are doing.”
